Update 14:15:
Services on W2 B03 & F02 transponders have been restored on SESAT1 at 16° East. Restoration of services on transponder W2 F04 is ongoing on W2M F04 at 15.8° East.
SESAT1 is now operational at 16° East in place of W2. Castor is restoring all services on SESAT1 as defined before for W2 in close coordination with Eutelsat CSC. --- On 27th January 2010 at 19:57 UTC, a depointing occurred on the W2 satellite (16° East) leading to a complete loss of traffic on this satellite. As a result customers of Castor on this satellite suffer from a severe outage. The current situation is that the W2 satellite is considered as lost and that the Sesat-1 satellite is on its way to 16° East to restore services. The Sesat-1 is due to arrive on 29th January 2010 after which restoration of services on this orbital position can start. We aim to restore all traffic on Sesat-1 with changing the frequencies. As an alternative, Castor has implemented services on Eurobird-3 for customers who are able to re-point dishes on 33° East. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused by this incident.
